Senior Landscape Architect
Mark manages a large team of experienced landscape architects at Groundwork. He has over 30 years’ experience and is passionate about inspiring people about landscape architecture and the impact it can have on our lives by delivering high quality, landscape design which creates a sense of place and helps connect people with nature.
He has worked on a vast range of projects ranging from social housing schemes; public realm; regeneration initiatives; urban & country parks; natural and conventional playscapes; community & sensory gardens; streetscapes; SuDS; Air quality GI Interventions; food growing projects; school ground design; sports facilities; hospital grounds & mental health units; to cycle and leisure routes.

Dale Woodcock CLMI
Senior Landscape Architect
Dale has over 25 years’ experience working in the landscape architecture profession both in private practice and working for Groundwork in Manchester and Leeds. Early in his career he worked in Malaysia and was involved with a large scale public open space development in Melaka. He also worked for private practice in Halifax, West Yorkshire and took advantage of the opportunity of working in Sydney, Australia.

Sarah Leeson CMLI
Senior Landscape Architect
Sarah is a charted landscape architect with over 25 years’ experience of developing and delivering a wide range of environmental improvement projects from feasibility to completion with values up to £2.5m. She helps clients realise their aspirations whilst working within realistic budgets and timeframes. She has experience of consultation, client liaison, planning, full design and construction detailing and on site contract administration.
She has worked within local authority, the third sector and private practice on a variety of projects from play areas, green space design and master planning, residential developments, education, leisure and estate regeneration. Sarah enjoys creating spaces that are safe, inviting and equitable for all ages and abilities that also improve social cohesion and resident well-being.
In her spare time Sarah likes to go walking in the peaks, attending gym classes and live music.

Jeremy Linden CMLI
Associate Landscape Architect
Jeremy qualified as a landscape architect in 1986. His experience has primarily involved working for Groundwork Trusts in various locations around the UK with a strong emphasis on community engagement. Jeremy has also worked as principal of his own practice, Earthscapes Design Associates, and with local authorities, private practice and teaching a section of the undergraduate landscape architecture course at Greenwich University.
Jeremy’s past work experience is very varied and has included public realm, city centre projects, play schemes, housing developments and public parks. During the past few years Jeremy has focussed on biodiversity, flood attenuation, river valleys and working with ecology in public and private spaces.
Jeremy particularly enjoys cross-country walking and exploring different landscapes in the uk and abroad and also cross-country running.

Helen Ball
Landscape Assistant
Helen graduated from Leeds Beckett University in September 2021 following a career change from teaching and development work to landscape architecture. She was delighted to start work straight away with Groundwork, as this gave her the opportunity, not only to design landscape but to stay involved in working with communities, meeting local people and helping to create spaces tailored to their needs and desires. She particularly enjoys planting design and creating places which support people in connecting with nature.
Outside of work, Helen enjoys spending time with family (especially her two crazy Yorkshire Terriers), relaxing at the caravan, day outings, and holidaying in the west of Scotland.

Stella Lee
Landscape Architect
Stella is a Landscape Architect with over 8 years’ experience in the field. She received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Birmingham City University in 2017 and worked in Hong Kong for over 5 years. She has experience in large-scale international projects in Hong Kong, China, the Philippines and the United Kingdom.
She joined Groundwork Yorkshire in 2022 as a Landscape Architect where she uses her professional knowledge and skills to create better spaces for the community. She specialises in 3D visualisations and photomontages.

Taybah Malik
Landscape Architect
Taybah has worked for Groundwork since 2019 and has been involved in projects including Better Start Bradford, Morley Town Fund and Plan on a Page. Over the years she has developed her design skills and visualisation skills and mainly enjoy working on woodland schemes. Prior to working at Groundwork, Taybah spent 2 years working in private practice in Manchester.
In her spare time she enjoys walking, travelling to countries with beautiful landscape, reading and watching Wes Anderson films.
