Groundwork were responsible for designing and delivering all the external spaces to create a series of beautiful areas for people to relax, meet and enjoy.

The previously, dull, neglected outdoors have been landscaped to include a variety of attractive spaces including seating areas, ornamental and tree planting with a rain garden theme linking the spaces. There is a resin bound path providing a route around the perimeter of the building, perfect for taking a stroll, and the strong curves of the new front building extension have been picked up in the landscape design. There are two car parking areas, a lawn area with relaxing water feature, and the area at the rear of the annex has been developed into a wildflower meadow.

Groundwork were approached to design the outdoor space for a former school building which was transformed into a new multi-million pound health and well-being centre in Bradford. Funded by the government-funded Shipley Towns Fund.

The new well-being centre opened in July 2025 and includes a new atrium, a landscaped communal space and gardens for users of the centre and members of the public.

The facility will be run by the Cellar Trust charity and will provide “a variety of health and well-being activities” and support for all age groups.
